THE LEGACY OF STIEVE MARSHALL
Stevie Marshall loved playing baseball. Growing up she was a force to be reckoned with on the diamonds and as an adult she passed her love of the game on through coaching in the Rookie ball Division of the GBA.
Unfortunately, Stevie passed away after a valiant battle with cancer.
The EAGLES Association wanted Stevie’s memory to continue and each year we present the Stevie Marshall award to the 8U/9U (ROOKIE BALL) player, who in the eyes of their coaches improved from the beginning of the season through the end.
MATTHEW MALARSKI
Matthew player missed the 2022 season and did not play ball. He has always loved the game of baseball and tried out for the 2023 8U Tier 1 team. Coaches saw potential in him and saw his determination and the coaches made a decision to give him a shot.
Knowing that he was behind others skill wise, Matthew practiced on his own when them team wasn't practicing. His family was behind him and on off days he would be in his backyard in his newly constructed batting cage working on refining his skills.
He quickly caught up and improved throughout the season and became a top 5 offensive player and racked up the most innings behind the plate. Matthew has demonstrated, heart, determination and a great work ethic.
