Hello HHMBA House League Players and Families,
The annual HHMBA House League Survey is now open!
The survey takes about 5-10 minutes and covers coaching, umpires, tournaments, registration, uniforms, scheduling, field quality, and overall value for the 2026 season.
2026 House League Survey - Fill out form
Your responses are anonymous. When you submit the form, it will not automatically collect your name or email address unless you provide it yourself.
Feedback from families is one of the most useful things we get, and it directly shapes the program we offer next season.

TRYOUT GUIDELINES AND SCHEDULE
GENERAL INFORMATION
We are opening up tryout registration as early as possible so that we can ensure we have the right number and right level of teams operating.
If you are planning to attend, please register as soon as possible as this will impact our coaching decisions for 2027.
Players should ensure that they bring their own equipment, including their own helmet, glove and water bottle. Tryout shirts will not be distributed this year and remember no Eagles travel gear is to be worn.
Attached to this post is the full HHMBA tryout guidelines. Please read through these guidelines as many questions are answered within this guide; however, if anything is unclear, please contact us and we can help guide you.
Questions related to imports (non-Halton Hills residents) can be found in this document as well as our release policy.
Please note our continuing policy as it relates to level of play the previous season:
Based on current and anticipated tryout registration numbers we will evaluate having a 2nd team for each single year age group. In many age groups, depending on skill level, coaches, and the number of registrants the 2nd team may be a combination of multiple age groups.
In previous years we would refer to these teams as "10U/11U COBA Select" or "12U/13U COBA Select" however this year they will be known as 11U Eagles Team 2 and 13U Eagles Team 3, etc.
Once the tryouts are complete, the coach of this team will work together with the appropriate rep director to determine the proper classification of this team with COBA. In most cases though "Team 2" will enter into COBA in the "COBA Select" loop. At some ages (9U and 18U) there is no COBA Select loop so these teams will likely classify into the Tier 2 loop at that age group.
If you are interested to learn more about what goes into these decisions please read this article - https://www.hhmba.ca/content/2024-Level-and-Name-Changes

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
Question - Can you clarify the guideline regarding attending Team 1 tryouts if my player was on a COBA Select or house league team last year? Am I opting out of the entire Team 1 tryout or just the "first one"?
Answer - Yes, if you decide to opt out, you are opting out of being considered for the Team 1 team entirely, not just the first tryout session.
Question - My child is born in the year 2013 which team/age/level are they trying out for?
Answer - Your player as a 2013 born player would be trying out at the 14u age group (for players born in 2013). If they were to be unsuccessful at the Team1 tryout they would move to the next possible team. If your player is not successful in making Team 2 they would register for House League early in 2027 and could potentially be an AP (Affiliate Player) for a travel team.
Question - What is the policy and procedure for requesting a release to play in another centre?
Answer - In general, all release requests at 14U and under will not be granted unless trying out for an HPP team, please see more information in the tryout guidelines attached herein.
Question - Who is the coach?
Answer - Team 1 head coach will be announced prior to, or during, Labour Day Weekend. Team 2 head coach will be announced at conclusion of Team 1 tryouts. If there is a Team 3 at your age group, the Team 3 head coach will be announced at conclusion of Team 2 tryouts.

Zero Tolerance for Post-Game Confrontations of Umpires
Dear HHMBA Families, Coaches, Players, and Spectators,
Over the past week, HHMBA has been made aware of two separate incidents in which parents crossed a very serious line by confronting umpires following games. This behaviour is unacceptable. Parents, or any spectator for that matter, must never approach, engage, or get in the face of any umpire at any time. Coaches may only address umpires during the game and strictly within the limits of the appropriate Code of Conduct.
While this type of conduct has been relatively uncommon in Halton Hills baseball, it has no place in our Association, and it will not be tolerated.
Effective immediately, HHMBA is enforcing a zero-tolerance policy regarding any parent, coach, player, or spectator approaching an umpire after the conclusion of a game. There is absolutely no reason to confront an umpire after the final out. The game is over, the umpire’s decisions are final, and any concerns must be addressed through the Association’s formal process—not on the field, in the parking lot, or anywhere else.
Any individual who approaches an umpire after a game to dispute calls, intimidate, criticize, or engage in inappropriate conduct will be subject to immediate disciplinary action, including removal from HHMBA. Depending on the severity of the incident, their player may also be removed from the Association.
When you registered your son or daughter to play baseball with HHMBA, you agreed to abide by the Association’s Code of Conduct. That commitment extends beyond the players—it applies equally to parents, guardians, coaches, and spectators. Respect for officials is a fundamental expectation of participation in our program.
Many of our umpires are young officials who are developing their skills just as our players are. They deserve to leave every game feeling safe, respected, and supported—not intimidated by adults.
This notice serves as a clear warning to everyone associated with HHMBA. Going forward, any incidents involving the confrontation of umpires will be dealt with swiftly and decisively.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe, respectful, and positive environment for our players, coaches, volunteers, and officials.
Sincerely,
D’Arcy Carr
President
Halton Hills Minor Baseball Association

Good morning HHMBA families,
Please note the following addition to our Air Quality Guidance that is bolded, underlined, and italicized.
Thank you,
Parents and guardians are encouraged to monitor their child for symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, dizziness, or unusual fatigue and to make the decision they feel is best for their family. Players with asthma or other respiratory conditions should exercise additional caution.
Thank you,

Hello HHMBA families, coaches, and community members,
Applications are now being accepted to be considered for a role as a Head Coach for Halton Hills Eagles travel teams in the 2027 season.
https://www.hhmba.ca/content/2027-travel-head-coach-applications
At this time, the HHMBA is considering fielding teams at the following levels next season:
· Tier 1 - from 8U (born in 2019) to 18U (born in 2009-10), plus a 22U team (birth years 2005-2008)
· Tier 2 - from 11U (born in 2016) to 18U (2009-10)
· COBA Select - for 9U, 11U, 13U, and 15U ages (Each COBA Select team will consist of players for the respective 2-year cohort, minor and major players at each level).
There is no guarantee that there will be teams at each of these levels and age groups. We will determine the number of teams based on the number of coaches as well as the talent level and the number of players that register at each age group.
Again, this year we want to encourage as many people as possible to apply to be a coach. The more applicants we have the more options we have to choose from; and the coaching selection committee can work with all coaches involved to help make the best selections.
Please don't feel like you are "stepping on toes" by applying to coach at an age group or level. Even if you don't think you have the experience to be a head coach in 2026, please apply and share your philosophy and plans on where you want to go. We can still discuss where your best fit would be.
All Applications are due by Wednesday, July 29th at 5 PM.
Interviews will begin as soon as possible with coaching announcements made in August 2026.
Please direct any questions regarding this process to Geoff Bahr geoff.bahr@hhmba.ca or reply to this email.
If you would like to be considered for a coaching role in 2027, please apply here:

Good morning HHMBA families and coaches,
July 09, 2026
Dear HHMBA Families and Coaches,
This is a reminder that the consumption of alcohol at practices, games, or on the playing fields is strictly prohibited. This violates both our league’s Code of Conduct and Town by-laws.
Anyone found consuming alcohol at games or on the fields may be asked to leave the park and may be subject to further action under the league’s Code of Conduct. This includes all HHMBA events and games including the tournaments.
Thank you for helping us provide a safe, respectful, and family-friendly environment for all players, coaches, officials, and spectators.
Sincerely,
House League Executive

Good morning HHMBA families,
As a reminder to all families attending HHMBA events (e.g., games, practices, tournaments), please ensure you are parking only in designated and legal parking areas.
Please avoid parking in no parking zones, fire routes, driveways, residential restricted areas, or business areas with designated customer parking requirements unless permitted.
While HHMBA does not have jurisdiction over where individuals choose to park as private citizens, we have been advised that residents and local businesses are being directed to contact parking enforcement regarding concerns related to illegal or unsafe parking during events.
We ask everyone to be respectful of our surrounding neighbourhoods and business partners and help us maintain positive community relationships during the season.
Thank you for your cooperation and support,
Halton Hills Minor Baseball Association

May 08, 2026Hello HHMBA House League Families,
The volunteer board of directors hope you're as excited as we are for the season ahead!
We wanted to share an update on house league team assignments, coaches, and uniforms.
As you may have already seen, teams have been built and shared with the majority of our divisions (please see below for an update about 15U and 18U). We're very happy with how they've come together so far.
That said, please note that assignments are subject to change, particularly at the 11U level.
Going forward, roster changes will only be made to accommodate coaching needs and to balance the teams.
We are still working on filling a few coaching spots, and any families affected by a resulting roster adjustment will be notified directly through the RAMP Team App as soon as possible.
Need help with the RAMP Team App? Check out our FAQs: https://www.hhmba.ca/content/ramp-team-app-faqs (Make sure you are signing in with the same email address you registered your child with!)
We are also actively looking for volunteer coaches for our 11U, 13U, and 15U divisions.
If you or someone you know is interested in coaching, please reach out to Laurissa at laurissa.wakefield@hhmba.ca
We would love to hear from you!
On the schedule front, we are currently waiting on Milton to release their schedule before we can finalize the 15U schedule. For our 18U families, we expect the schedule to be released by the end of the day.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we put the finishing touches on our teams and coaching lineup. Our goal is to get every team set up for a great season, and we're almost there!
IMPORTANT: Today's uniform pick-up is for COACHES ONLY. You will hear from your child's coach for how to receive their uniform (e.g., at the first practice, at a meeting spot).
Thank you and enjoy the rest of your weekend,
Halton Hills Minor Baseball Association
